This is a discussion on Will China fully open up to poker - tournament/online ? within the online poker forums, in the Poker News section; China only allows gambling in Macau ( Poker and Casinos) and a bit in HK ( Horseracing).
But with the upcoming Asian Poker League holding a
Alibaba's recent purchase of Caesars Interative could be premised my inside knowlegde of further upcoming liberalisation in the gaming market.

re: Poker & Will China fully open up to poker - tournament/online ?
The problem with these big Countries joining in on poker online is we saw a little taste of what could happen back in 2009(?) when the Chinese players colluded on Pokerstars in the Double or Nothings. There has been other situations but it was the most glaring one to me.
Its not something that can be stopped with the world coming online more and more and neither should it be stopped. That is in reference to people being able to play not cheating.
We will need to put up stronger security to keep even the optics appearance of tables and tables of Chinese players. I play on a Argentinian site and it always
worries me when I am going 3-4 players in a hand being the one Canadian and thats just a optics issue since I find a lot of them can not stand each other due to previous hands.
