Pressure depends on the ability to help a candidate's election effort. Two ways to do this: Contribute money - like a PAC. Or, demonstrate that there are a number of active voters who care about the issue - the NRA approach.
Assuming that the PPA doesn't have significant funds, that leaves voter pressure. Who among us has contacted their elected representative lately? There is an active thread here on CardsChat that might be a good place to start.
