Personally I'm amazed (though disappointed) that it took this long.
We've had legislation dating back to the Howard government that has made it illegal for poker sites
to offer their services to Australian players. IIRC my reading of the legislation was that there were only penalties for the companies, not for players. I don't recall there being any penalties in there for financial providers who facilitate the service, but I could be wrong and it's ages since I've read it.
My read on it has always been that it was a law that was drafted to keep the B&M casinos
happy, not one that was ever intended to be enforced. Maybe that's changing? Senator Conroy, do I sense another one of your insane schemes afoot?
FWIW I've only ever deposited once (on Tilt, using POLi, before the crash) and it worked fine. Not as easy as depositing into my Centrebet sports betting account, but no issues.
EDIT: which bank, out of interest?
