I noticed that tools like Pokerstove, Equilab and such are prohibited with pokerstars but it seems to me, that in game at least these tools don't do any more than online equity calculator tools. Are those prohibited as well? If they are I didn't notice it in their FAQ. I also noticed that Ace Poker Drills equity calculator doesn't appear to be on their prohibited list either. Not sure what the aforementioned programs do that is so special that got them prohibited. Especially since it's advertised as having MORE features than Pokerstove, you'd think it would be banned even before Pokerstove...?

Can anyone offer any insight on this.

hi!!!personally, my opinion is that the use of various programs to facilitate the game, only exacerbates your range of thoughts, learn to think without programs,be above your knowledge, the program only dulls the development of you in poker.good luck!

That's not really relevant to the question as to why some programs are banned but with functionality that can mostly be achieved on a website. It's kind of like me asking you why water skiing is banned and you telling me you don't like water skiing. Not that it is banned though, that's just an example.
