Okay so here is the situation. I started playing bodog sit and gos about three months ago. I only played 3-.30 buy ins -ten handed. At first I was losing average about 5th place or so. I then moved my average to about 4.3 place according to PT3. In the past two weeks I have been placing in the money to where I actually have some ROI. I know Im playing the right moves but Im starting to get frustrated with some of my push moves the type of hands that my villians are calling and winning on. Ill push Short stacked in middle postion with AJs or not suited or AQ etc.. only to be called by J9 or QT by a larger stack. Its really frustrating me to have these hands beat mine about 10 times in a row putting me out of the money. Clearly these hands are losing because of variance but should I be worry about my bank roll right now? Ill post some hands underneath this. What can I do to get an edge on this type of variance. I have been reading of ICM calcs but would like to know more on them and ICM calcs everyone else uses. Any advice or encouragement would be very greatful.

Bodog - $3.00+$0.30|<> NL - Holdem - 5 players

UTG: 2,130.00
CO: 6,700.00
Hero (BTN): 2,700.00
SB: 1,000.00
BB: 2,470.00
Hero posts ante 25.00, SB posts ante 25.00, BB posts ante 25.00, UTG posts ante 25.00, CO posts ante 25.00, SB posts SB 100.00, BB posts BB 200.00
Pre Flop: (425.00) Hero has Jc Ah
UTG calls 200.00, CO raises to 725.00, Hero raises to 2,675.00 and is all-in, fold, fold, UTG calls 1,905.00 and is all-in, CO calls 1,950.00
Flop: (7880.00, 3 players) Qh Qd 3h
Turn: (7880.00, 3 players) 2d
River: (7880.00, 3 players) 9h
UTG shows Ad Ac (Two Pair, Aces and Queens) (PreFlop 72%, Flop 85%, Turn 95%)
CO shows 4d 4s (Two Pair, Queens and Fours) (PreFlop 20%, Flop 9%, Turn 5%)
Hero shows Jc Ah (One Pair, Queens) (PreFlop 7%, Flop 6%, Turn 0%)
UTG wins 6,740.00
CO wins 1,140.00

Looking over this hand I still feel I made a good move because the big stack was making very aggressive moves with weak hands and felt that I had a hand to put all in. However I didnt really think that UTG would have anything other then a mediocre hand that he/she was trying to play early with some luck.

Is this hand a good move or just variance or what??
Perhaps I should have felt this hand out a little more? Played it soft?
Thanks to whoever replies!!

BTW just so everyone knows I do realize that my sample size is small if you look me up on sharkscope but I have played at another smaller online poker service where I started to hone my skills. So when you scope me I will have about 100 games played when in reality its about 200-300. In that time I have signifantly improved my game through study and at this time I estimate my real ROI at about 2-3%. However in the next 6 months I would like to improve my ROI to about 5-8% if not more( if possible). I have spent my time learning how to play position poker and Im now in the process of learning hand ranges on individuals through my PT3 trial. Once again I do realize that my sample sizes are off and maybe what im looking for is some encouragement that I am doing the right thing more often then not when shoving.

I'm going to have to keep it short but bottom line - I think you are probably over valuing AJ. Hard to tell on such small sample. It may take a while but keep track of your results on that and see.
