i think 10 out of 50. for 1 out of 5 you need to gain all the chips and you have to be the best player there

It depends more on the structure for rebuys, add ons, late registration etc. But based on just the two options, go for the 10/50 because you can place easier between 1 and 10 of 50 to get a ticket but it's useless to place between 1 and 2 out of 5.

1 out of 5 you have to beat everyone. it depends more on luck
if you are a decent Player you should have no Problems with the 10 out of 50 sats. so that should be your better choice

In such cases, I always play on satellites with the most tickets.

1 of 5 can be a more aggressive game, if that's your style you might do well. 10 of 50 evokes a more conservative style of play since there is no additional benefit to making it to the top, rather just beat the bubble. If you are a tighter player, that would be your game. Best of luck.

1 OF 5

It's best to play 1 of 5

It depends on whether you like to play satellites or not :)

If 1 of 5, then it's a winner-take-all format. So although technically a satellite, the strategy will be the same as a cash game or winner-take-all tournament.

If 10 of 50, then it's a normal super-satellite with traditional satellite strategy that for example Dara O'Kearney does a great job talking about in his book.

Sorry to see that you've already played and didn't win, but for future I'd base this type of decision on whether you like satellites (then 10 of 50) or have more experience in cash games and normal tournaments (then 1 of 5).
