Huge fields on stars because of lock down

This lockdown is fuking with my poker man lol , I play low -mid stakes tournaments on stars and the fields r huge coz of the virus and up.in a tournament for 4 hours and get $18 where usualy that 4 hours say in the big 22 would have u $40 and the variance is crazy .. loads of fish cracking your value hands with 67off and what not... do yous prefer the bigger softer fields or want things in online poker to go back to normal?

I definitely would prefer there to not be this virus, since it is causing an enormous amount of harm to society and mankind. However looking strictly at poker it has been a gift, since it has brought a lot of new players into the action. The huge fields on Stars is a challenge, but there are many possible solutions including:

* Play turbos including the new "on demand" bounty builders
* Play outside rush hour
* Play the tournaments with a player cap
* Play SnGs especially the 18-180 mans
* Play on other sites than pokerstars
* Play cash games

Bigger traffic is on all poker rooms, because people are stuck in their homes. Variance is to big in all games, no matter what game you play, to many people who don’t know what they are doing. No matter what you do, and how you play, there are to many players who will pay you with any two cards, and your premium holdings will suck out. For me poker stars nowadays are not playable at all

If your goal is to win money in poker, then you should be thrilled about bad players. In poker we basically win, when our opponents make mistakes, and the only way to win big is to play with someone, who make big mistakes

You are wrong that it is bad when there are a lot of bad players. This is the same place where you can earn. You just need to consider that there are many fish that will answer you. You need to tweak your game a bit.

Can't agree. Coz i getting all in calls in 22$ tourney early stage with AA vs 49s and losing; if i raise limpers 8x i get called 4way. What i mean its gettin harder to get ITM, coz u must win vs lot of crazy bingo hands to get there. Especially KO tourneys, these feels like lottery these days...

It is a dream come true.

All mtt's are juicy and full off stations.
Yes you will lose a lot of anoying hands.

But you will get a lot of donations to. Even deep in tournaments.

And the on demand bounty builders are money makers!

Completely agree. I play micro stakes, usually $1.10 and there used to be 3-4 thousand players. Now the same tournament at the same time has over 10 thousand. A lot of them have no idea the fundamentals of poker which makes them hard to play against. Also takes so much longer to play and you need to win many more flips to finish high. Almost becoming more lottery like. In the lobby I used to see 80-90 thousand players online, now see over 200k.

For daily profit in MTTs I prefer a smaller field because the variance is smaller... but this is why I just play cash games 90% of the time, that's where the variance is smallest.

For tournaments which I truly just play for the shot at lifechanging money, I prefer the big fields because you are more likely to reach the final few tables with less skilled players who will make more mistakes.

The best thing about tournaments is that every once in a while you get to play really high stakes VS players who are not used to playing for high stakes... they key for this though is playing for those top 3 spots and not just playing to min or med cash.

Thanks bud.. yes I've got you on YouTube , have been a sub for some time now.. I actually wanted to thank I you, your video on raide your edge MTT masterclass was the reason I purchased it. The in depth review was good and gave me more info and made it easier to buy and I'm glad I did in about 30% three it and alredy its helped me out.

Exactly bud lol.. u do get a lot of calling stations and and chip donations but as u say . End up all in KK v 64s and they flop a straight lol and u made another point that was spot on ... wen u 3bet to isolate these fish think coz they have money invested they can't fold so your AK goes 4 ways to flop look that's happened to me alot.. stay safe and GL on tables
