Is there more than one variable to this than just a random number? How much do you consider your own and others skill at this particular level? I read any where from 100-300 buy ins. That is quite a difference!

The skill level is VERY minimal at this level, almost non existent imo. These low buys are are almost always turbo/hyper which just induces even more crazy play. As for the buy in's? I usually roll with a 5% br management, ''300'' is wayyyy too extreme.

This depends on your ability, if you are just crushing them then maybe 100 buyins

I depends more on the size of the tournaments you are playing. If you are playing 50 to 60 player tournaments 100 buy in is a lot. If there re 1000 players 200-300 may be a more appropriate number.

I think 300 is to much. I like to use 100 buy ins.

Indeed, even worse then a freeroll. Its just a crazy show up until it settles to the last 10% of the field when it might start to flow as a relatively normal game.

General rule of thumb is always have 100 buy ins in your bankroll to start.
