This needs more information to truly help you. Saw cfb402 out of florida
won full flush
10k sit and go challenge next day he won the 4k nightly main event he said he learned most of his stuff from
"FFP has been on the hunt for the ace amongst their players over the past five months, and CFB402 consistently outperformed the competition over the long haul to see him end the year $10,000 richer and crowned with the title of Full Flush 2014 Rising Star. He also picked up several Monthly Leaderboard prizes, finishing first in both September and October, second in November, and fourth in August, to pocket an additional total of $2,150 in prize money. He cites Dan Harrington as his poker hero, having employed many strategies he learned from reading Harrington on Hold’em (Volumes I, II, and III) to hone his online poker game
Now I havent read these books but this guy chris is 42 im 45 he is where I want to be so im getting these books. lol
Now back to your question? It depends are you catching hands? Do you have table image to build on stack by bluffs and pushing? My goal is always to get a certain amount of chips than wait on my big moves. If table is a bunch of busters I dont respect I absolutely will fold way into the final. I know if get to final few people if their game are lacking or inferior I really have a shot at the deep money.
And that is the dilemma entirely most tournaments you are going to play as move up ladder the TOP FOUR is everything. You have to make timely moves you have to have timely wins. Is that simple. But if say fifth place pays 5.00 and 6th pays 3.00 and say fourth 7.50 third 9 second 12.50 and first 18?
That is a large difference say is a freeroll 25.00 one 20th pays 50cents 15th 75cents 10th to 6th a dollar
Do you see where you should have made moves if were going to earlier?
Not much difference in money.
Now you have say 200k chips good position with field I wait till get down to final 4 than I go to work to win first of that one 5.75 and honestly if final table? I win a lot.
So tournament and structure should define some of your play imho is why brought this all up with examples.
If in a 100 buy in for 20000 first prize? I hope you play slow and steady especially at a final table cannot tell you how often ive folded down to say a fourth place spot lol when should have been like 15th in events.
Be smart be aware pay attention focus on what is going on loose tight table etc.. take advantage of the situation
