hi everyone, in the past couple of weeks ive enterd the 4.40 on stars 4 times, the first time i cashed 8.50dollars second time bubble boy, third time out in 10 mins and fourth time last night came 39th and cashed 50 dollars, i got took out by Q,Q against my 10,10 preflop, i had about 8 ms left with the blinds at 8000 so it was a no brainer to me ??. was playing for nearly 7hrs. My question is to regular tourniment players, how likely is it for me to be in the money in these tournys on a regular basis in these large fields,.[last night 6300 ] i know it all depends on how good or bad i am, but in your own experience, i havent got a sample size only been playing 4 months. also how high is the skill level when you get down to a few tables and does skill level increase dramaticly as you move up in levels??

Getting QQ all in at most stages in a tournament is fine, towards the deep later stages it's even more so.
Don't focus on getting in the money, focus on trying to win. If you're playing optimally, you shouldn't be getting in the money all that often but when you do get in the money, you will usually have a deeper run.

To get a rough estimate of how often you should cash, simply look at the ratio of how many places get paid to the size of the field. If you're one of the better players, you can expect to cash somewhat more often, and less if you're out-matched. BUT there is huge variance in large-field MTTs, so running above or below this est. ITM rate isn't really meaningful unless you're looking at a very large sample.
