Buy in = $ 4,300
Live Cash Game Tournament
Day 3 = I'm already in the money

Hero = 1 Million chips
Villain = 3.5 Million

Ante = 10 K
Small Blind = 40 K
Big Blind = 80 K

I'm in the SB with AQ offsuit, the villain in utg + 2 raised to 200 K chips,

i was thinking about folding but decided to go all in because i only have

5 BB,we just started Day 3 and i have no read on the villain,:(.

Flop was K 7 4 rainbow , J on the turn and another 4 on the river.

I'm out but got a decent prize of $ 6,545 :)

Please tell me if i made a horrible decision or just a standard push all in
when theres 10 BB or less chips left.

Based on the hand description you had about 11BB, but still a fine shove

I would've done the same. You're under pressure and probably you wont have any better hand until the blinds eat u out.
You could have folded imo if you had a read about the other players on table, if a mini raise would be enough to steal blinds... anyway, what was the villain hand? JT-JK?

I still think it was a good shove... if you had any information on villain you could rethink it. but clueless....

When you could easily get blinded out you have to shove with a hand like that really.

It just didn't work this time but it was still the right play.

Hello ps what I believe and what I have read is that when a rival puts you in a situation you or I should do is fold as it can hide some very strong hand, or if you have already analyzed and you have seen How he develops his hands and you were sure that he was bluffing in that case if I followed him with that hand that came out AQ. Is what I think, congratulations to get to ITM.

I think you did ther right thing, you lost to a bad beat but it's ok, you still got into the money.

Everything depends on the situation, but I think the worst option would be allin because you would show fear on your hand and it would be better to get the maximum value

All-in was the correct call I believe in that situation. if you call and see a flop you have committed 20% of your stack already and he knows you are pot committed at this point so he would more than likely barreled off anyways. He just happened to wake up with AK this time, but over time its a +EV shove in this spot. Chalk it up to variance and move on.

I also would have went all in in that situation with AQ. Rule of thumb when trying to win the tournament, less than 10bb go all-in with at least Q7 and over because to few chips, to many hands will get involved thus a low probability to win.

At least a fighting chance is all you can ask for.

I try not to be results orientated, very hard to do because we judge our success by the result of the hand, tournament, etc. Just try and make right decisions, and in this case I believe you did.
Another style I mix in to my play is when I know i'm going all-in, as in this case, I'll call the initial raise which stops the action pre-flop. Then on the flop I go all-in which now shows strength and can have possible better hands fold since they may now have a board that scares them. My result would have been the same since I was going all-in anyways.

In your case, you still would have lost the hand since villain would of flopped top pair top kicker and would have called. But against mid to lower pockets, they may have folded.

Just a thought. Good luck.

Thanks guys,i was disappointed when I saw his AK,ouch I'm dominated but
on my way home driving I realized it wasn't a bad moved after all coz I only
have 5 BB.

I was able to play this $ 4,300 buy in event because I qualified on a $ 160
buy- in satellite.

There was 180 players participated on that day but only 9 % go Day 2 .
(11 Days of chances to qualify for anybody who does not want or cannot
afford to pay $ 4,300 U.S dollars.)

Some big names who played this event are 2016 wsop runner up Gordon Vayo, Carlos Mortensen WPT & WSOP champion,Nam Le, Eric Lindgren.

On Day 2 I was involved in a pot with 2015 WSOP November Niner Patrick Chan, he won the 1st pot we played, and I won the 2nd pot we played.

Overall I'm happy with the outcome,the experienced to play with the pro's
was invaluable.:)

$ 6545 prize money - $ 160 buy in = $ 6,385 profit

Not bad at all for a 3 Day poker.

Push in this situation is the standard game and the mistake you did not make accurately. A similar situation was with me, only the opponent had JJ.
