Take your bankroll and divide it by 50. The resulting number is the highest buy in you should play.

You should have $150 minimum to play $3 sit n go.

i am pretty bad at bankroll management tbh but i have been told 100 buy ins atleast for mtt's and 50 for sng's and 30 for cash games. if you want to make your bankroll last i would agree around $150. my best piece of advice would be if you end up making money at the $1/$3 sng's that you are prepared to move back down if you lose at a higher level, say $5 or whatever if you drop below 50 bi's. this is the part i am not good at, if i win money i end up carrying on playing until i go down a decent bit or even lose it all haha.
