This is a discussion on A 'what-if' MTT question: within the online poker forums, in the Tournament Poker section; What if a site like PokerStars offered the following MTT all players, including US:
-5 Million GTD w/ a min of $500K for 1st place
I do not have experience about your second point, but I think I wouldn't change my style even if the price is that high.

In it to win it. For me anyway.
I dont care about the BI. When I get in a game I want to win, and I never think like "It is only x$, so I dont care"
Sometimes games last longer than I expect and I get tired, but then it is tilt directing my play and not the BI amount.
I obv. would not care about the BI loss, but the win would be important to me.

I play every tournament for the win, it doesn't matter if it is a freeroll or not.
The only time I deviate from this, is when I was playing for the open skill league and an early bust means losing a lot of points for the league, but busting on the bubble means winning points, while in a normal tournament busting on the bubble or going out first means no money is won.

re: Poker & A 'what-if' MTT question:
Negligible fee = huge field; donk fest (to start at least).
Huge prize fund = worth serious effort.
Super deep stack = you have time to pick spots.
No RB, AO or RE = No early stage gambling advised.
I would play according to the tables I land at. I'd expect a lot of AIs and crazy overbets early, so i'd be super tight.
I'd expect pretty regular table changes and when you land at one where they are actually playing poker then I would loosen up and play a standard deep stack game.
I'd be aiming to get past the bingo stage, maybe loosing half the field and still having close to average stack .... I'd regard this, or better, as being on target.

for the guarantee to get hit in this tourney you are talking 500 million entries
i don't change the way i play no matter what the buy in is as far as i am concerned poker should be poker no matter what level you are playing at, but at higher levels people bluff more and leave it to your head to decide if they actually have the cards or not. this is where having information on your opponents helps greatly.
