Or low buy in tournaments. I simply sit out for the 1st 30 minutes. Eliminates a lot of the wacked any 2 card all-in players. You can thank me later.

Ok thanks for giving some advice but I ask you would not be content just by being in the ITM and earning a few cents ?, I believe that those players who go with all their stack and play without cooperating range should take advantage and increase our stack that you would give a better position to be in the FT or win the tournament

if you are not confident enough to Play the very early stage of a Tournament, why do you Register, sit out and pay the blinds + ante?
just wait 30min, late reg and start with a full stack

you can thank me later ;)

I'm pretty tight in beginning. I don't worry about the bingo players. its cards and its free. I win enough free rolls that i haven't deposited in two years.

I just started playing the plo free rolls and have won four out of 9 but its just a couple of dollars. I can 9/10 times run that change up to around 40 bucks. Then the same thing happen every-time. My boat gets sunk by a bigger boat or quads. You just cant fold and you think wow how lucky i must be. Its like clock work for last two years. that's what led to the skepticism. who can complain about these crazy beats. I was entertained for many hours from a free roll. I keep the depositors depositing and site has 50% rake on all free rolls. Everybody wins.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I hate to miss those juicy low level blinds and opportunities to take stacks from those fish. :p

I am cautious - and sometimes my stack is no bigger 30 min later - but the times that it is are when I have a better shot at a deep run. :)

Your strategy won't always work.most of the time you'll be a bit after that. It's what you do.well, if you're lucky on a regular basis then you have to play roulette)))

I would do the same, but sitting out you miss some good opportunities. Most are going all in with nothing so I wait until I get QQ, KK, AA and I call. Does not happen a lot but when it does it helps me build cushion for later in the tournament.

In the long run, you want to be playing against these players, not sitting out. The the blinds are low at the beginning, you want to be in these pots. If they all in then you can fold, you will have only committed a small amount of chips in the worst case.

I'm sorry to say that I do not see how you will ever move up from micros if this is your game style. You're basically playing -EV just to avoid their -EV plays.

While after 30 minutes a lot of the bingo players will have lost, there will be some that have gotten lucky and chipped up, are you comfortable playing against these players when they have more chips than you and blinds/antes are bigger?

Of course it's up to you how you want to play, if that's how you feel comfortable then good luck with it.

I will risk way more than $3 or less buy ins with AA or KK vs 67, 78, etc. any day of the week. Missing a golden opportunity to get it all in against a player so willing to gamble when I am a massive favorite is worse than busting out.

The point here is - sure you are risking busting out but doubling up and setting yourself up for a deep run rather that just trying to make the min cash payouts is a much better game plan.

My goal playing any MTT is never to simply make the $$ - I have my eyes set on the final table and if everything goes well, first place! I play super super tight in the early stages, especially if there's an all in fest for the first level or two - i always look to build a big stack asap and set myself up for success later in the tournament. Not to mention a big stack starts opening up advantages that smaller and average stacks don't have.

If you like sitting out and that method works best for you - by all means keep on grinding it out 30 minutes later - but I would just register late if possible rather than blinding off chips.

Good luck at the grind

The short game is lacking opportunites..

The strategy is good, makes some sense, but if you don't play/see every hand, you can't say you gave max effort. Variance, if played in enough hands, can work for you, over the long run. Long run=playing every single hand.

Aha, so that’s what all those sit-outs are doing in the freerolls. I always wondered why 7/10 people would sit out during the game, now I know!

But on a serious note. This is the worst advice you can give. Sit out when people are shoving their stack -EV when you are massively ahead? No. Just no.

Thank me later.

I really think this is a great idea even on higher stakes ive never done it before but sometimes even with very strong hands it is possible to lose all yoir chips on a flip, so thank you i will be practicibg this move from now on.

I been using that technique too, yet u cant secure good money that way. I am good at bluffing and have good preflop skills, I would buy in right before the end of the late registration period and play agressively. that helps raise the stack a little and then I start waiting for good hands to play again. this works but not everytime unfortunately

If you do that because you are not confident of your skill level or your discipline during the game or the bubble phase pick up another hobby or study some basic strategies.

I late register some buy in tournaments because I am more confident to play with 20-30bbs because I kinda play more sng and I understand!?!? better those dynamics but I don't sit out in order to make it ITM and especially in a freeroll.

Why don't you go on and tells us how you go out at the 31st minute after sitting back in and getting that trash ace rag with 7bb remaining stack?

Why any thinking player would ever miss the fish catching stage of the MTT? Often this stage is a single reason why we're entering the money...

In my opinion if you play a lot of tournaments, the tactic is bad, but it plays little and every penny is important can be a good tactic.

I would think everybody has different opinions on this, for me it would depend on the tournament and the number of players.:):):)

Seems like a wacky strategy to me, but whatever floats your boat!

I noticed some people at freerolls sitting out and sneakily popping back in when they have a good hand or blinds.

This is a very good task for yourself :) To set a goal not to fly out in the first 30 minutes, but I think this is not serious and can not be considered as a strategy or skill for the game. In General,to get into the prizes or win, you must not fly out :). I can't imagine sitting down and not playing for 30 minutes at the beginning of a tournament. The initial stage of the tournament is perfect for active play and studying opponents at the table. Of course, if you play super aggressive and play very bad hands, play stupid, you will be out, pay the blinds for 30 minutes and not play, very strange. I may not have fully understood you...

The fish are usually the first players out and you want to play hands with the fish.

better yet, late register, that way your blinds arnt being eaten while you sit out. but freeroll doesnt allow late reg, only on other tournament so it works both ways.
