Hello, I was usually depositing about 20-30 USD just to make it to about 200$, sometimes withdrawing and busting everything that was left away.
What would you say is a good first deposit from which you could build? (I play microstakes). What would be a good % ammount for withdrawals without taking too much out of your bankroll? Some people say about ~ 100 times the ammount of the buy-in for MTT's but I feel like lots of people just dont have the finances to deposit 100$ straight.

Hi mishu,

A sufficient bankoll allows you to play without worrying too much about money and allows you to endure the bad run.
I play micro and small limit on bwin on this room you have tournaments at 0.01 $ 0.22 $ 0.55 $ .... and :D some recurring freerolls.
No need to deposit $ 100 to start .

The more experience you have, the greater amount you can start and Vice versa and the size of the pot directly tied to the limits of tournaments and bets!

It all depends on what stakes you're comfortable playing with. You don't want to play for too much but you don't want to play for so little that you don't care. I'd prefer to multi-table three $5 tourney's over playing one $15 tourney because of my bankroll.

The amount you can deposit that you dont mind losing all of.

What stakes you are rolled for depends on how much you mind losing your roll.

If you dont want to lose your roll, stick to 100+ buyins for tournaments, 50+ for sit and goes, and 30+ for cash games.

The higher the stakes you play, the more buyins you need.

30 dollars is normal to raise a bankroll, but you need to be cautious and determine how and where to play, for tournaments it's a great bankroll to play and win a decent amount of money, a lot of weak players in tournaments play very bad and you have a chance to win from them, and in the cash games there are a lot of strong players who can beat you!

If you are good at playing poker, then you can win well in cash games, and it's not necessary to replenish 20-30 dollars and you can raise a normal amount from 10 dollars!

Bankroll size is a function of ability, the higher your roi the lower your required bankroll. Think for most people 100 buyins is a good number, if you want to buyin for less than that and have a low risk of ruin, your ability should be high(beginners usually dont have a high roi.

Hi Mishu,

When you play with money you do not need why do not you play higher stakes instead of taking money out of your bankroll?

Now this is some excellent advice. So if you are low on your bankroll, would you most recommend cash games or some other?
