I think it does matter.
If you are a short stack, until its hand for hand near the bubble, you may not want to go through the blinds. It certainly can help you cash.
On the flip side of that, if I'm a big stack and we are in a turbo, if a game is slow, there is a good chance that the blinds can go up 2x to 3x an orbit putting pressure on the middle - small stacks.
Usually the first example is people that have made strategic errors. I have not employed the first strategy because I stay ahead of the blinds or bust out, but I do understand.
I have used the second strategy and think it is very effective. In a 5 min blind or less tournament it is just another way to put pressure on people. The slower the game the less
hands you have to pick from, but the blinds keep growing, pretty simple logic.
