I took a quantity approach to learning poker when I started. While having lots of data is great, having the right data is far more important.

You don't just want to learn how to play poker you want to learn how to play poker well and that requires studying poker well. How quickly you advance is based on good quality data.

Yes quality study is important. The most important aspect is studying material that will improve your game reading something for the sake of it wont help as much as reading something because it focuses on an area your actively trying to improve in your game.
