Here's my situation: I'm pretty new to poker and online poker, and I'm eager to learn it. I'm starting on full tilt poker. However, for starters, I'm just trying to build a bankroll from 0. So I won a ticket by placing in the top 100 in the satellite to the ferguson. I've been thinking of a good way to use this $1 tournament ticket. As research I guess, I observed the Daily Dollar tournament, the Ferguson tournament, and several heads up SNGs.

I figured that the heads up would be the best, though I knew that even this would sort of be a gamble, because it seemed like most people just went all in pre-flop very early, so it became sort of a luckfest again. Sure enough, 1st hand we were both all-in pre-flop. He had Q3 not suited, I had K 10 suited. I raised 2 times the big blind, and he went all-in. Because I had observed people going all-in pre-flop with very average hands, I called it. The guy hits a straight with his 3 on the river. So there, my cashier is back to 0.

Now I've won another ticket in the satellite. I figure I might as well ask you guys then. What would you suggest be my next step, with this 1$ tournament ticket in my cashier? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

If you haven't already done so be sure to go the Full Tilt Academy and do a Sit n Learn so as to qualify for the monthly freeroll

Heads up might be a bit hard to start off with just the 1 dollar or whatever, plus as you witnessed lots of variance, id keep trying to get these tickets and like above said, just enter the daily dollar and if you play a solid tight aggressive game you should get in the money once in a while... or you could just deposit a small amount to take advantage of a deposit bonus.. or you could search around for some smaller sites which offer better freeroll's with smaller fields as the big sites tend to be hard to cash consistently due to the massive fields! good luck

i would go for a one table sit n go. I find that these are the easiest way to make money. you just have to make sure that you play very tight in the first few stages. It is a good idea to check out the academy. you can learn alot from there.

Ok, I'll start by doing one of those Sit n Learns, and hopefully accumulating more tickets in the meantime. From reading around, I guess I should just do one sit n learn per month, because you can only do each one once for the freeroll, so ill go with that strategy. Thanks for the advice guys.

daily dollar would be your best option. the starting stacks are big and the blinds increase very slow. if you play with patience, you should be able to cash. best of luck to you.
