Hey.
Im wondering what you think that would be a decent hand in omaha to call with.. like 3 of a kinds in the hand are shit, but 2 suit high cards like aq of spades and j 10 of hearts is always a call right? And also wondering what yoy would do with 2 pairs like 10's and q's because most likely they only result in 3 of a kind or straight/flush if suited or straight-royal flush but veryveryvery rarely haha :D

I think that a nice hand to limp in and even call in flop is something like:

10h|10d|6s|7s ->becouse you have a pair and conectors for a sequence
8d|7h|Js|Qs ->probability of sequence and a nice flush
As|Ks|9h|8d ->probability of high and a low sequence and a top flush with the AK

I hate to call with any hand. Usually either raise or fold :)

It's Omaha so ideally you are look for the double suited wrap type hands, obvious AsKhQsJh is a gorgeos hand as you have a wrap for the top straights, and are double suited with the nut spade flush possible and second nut heart flush possible (suites obv just examples). This is an ideal situation, I would take that hand over the AAKK I think, although might have to think for a second if that AAKK is double suited for both nut flushes :).

In omaha you want four cards that work well together and in various ways for the straights and flushes etc, especially remembering the nuts are most often out there :D. Love omaha thought as its certainly action filled.

Haha, i've been recently trying to learn omaha, but it is so hard to play. I always just look at my hands and just use my instinct to gauge the strength of my hand. It's a really bad way to play lol..

+1
i never limp,if i think i am good i raise if not i fold mine hands :)
Strategy telling that he should limp small pairs but i dont like it cause usually limpers get big raise so must fold..so its better to raise 3bb and see flop then limp and fold after raise :)

If you usually play 75% of hands in Omaha you always lose, you have got to pick your starting hands carefully or you are just throwing money away.
The average level of play in micro stakes Omaha is atrocious and there is money to be made by even an average player like me. :)
If you want to learn Omaha look for the many posts on here about it and play lots of micro stakes.
When you are trying to learn Omaha you have got to forget about holdem, they are 2 completely different games, nearly everything you have learnt about holdem does not apply to Omaha, so as I say read as much as you can and play as much as you can cos as I say there is money to be made and it is waiting at the tables for you. :D

I thought Omaha was the same rules as Texas and when I was playing I shoved thinking I had Ace high flush. There was four hearts on the board and I had the Ace of hearts in my hand. I was like why are the chips not coming my way :D

I know why now :D

I seem to win more sets playing Omaha than when I play texas holdem. My sets always seem to get crushed against a straight or a flush. Just my luck :D

Playing 75% of hands in PLO is remarkable. I cannot believe you make any money doing that. I play PLO even tighter than I do NLHE and that's saying something!

I would suggest you to read Doyle's supersystem to get better at omaha. It covers varuous aspects of omaha with advanced strategies too.

One odd thing about Omaha is that small pairs in your starting hand are actually minus EV :)

in omaha you can not bluff nearly my opinion, you should play for the nuts

I love omaha it's definitely way higher variance but at nl 5 or 10 you can make so many buy ins just by playing smart since most players at those limits aren't folding non nut flushes or straights. It's a super profitable game if you have good discipline and it just seems like so much more fun because hand strengths are so extreme from flop to river

you have to do is play quietly, exsaltar not to bet your hand or not strong rises 2.5 the blind .. see how it develops hand and take your desicon on the basis of a check / raise to see the reaction of your opponents before the flop

I wasnt aware that it's bad to call or open limp in PLO micor stakes. I know in Holdem I'm rarely calling, either raising or folding. But I thought in Omaha it was alright to just call. Basically I'm looking to get hands that have lots of nut value, so I dont mind just calling and letting a bunch of players see a flop with me, this way I can make some sort of nut straight or flsuh and they will easily pay me off with so much worse. To me it seems like raising wont thin the field so if I miss or create a non nut hand then I'm not sure what to do with my hand because theres bound to be action.

I almost never raise preflop at microstakes just because I know no one is going to fold and too often your gonna get 3 bet. It's easy to get it all on on boards you like by the river without a PFR. This might not be the right strategy but if your playing with people with VPIP's in the 70's your raise isn't getting rid of anyone. Def not a strategy i'm using at a table where people are actually somewhat selective of the hands they play but at micros i'm really not raising unless it's a h/l game and I've got a monster that plays well high and low

PLO, where it sometimes makes sense to fold the nuts on the flop... :)

i play 90% HI LO and i seldom raise in a cash game no matter what stakes not even with a decent low hand, other in tourneys
