If your only going to deposit 20$, then the closest option you will have to mtt's would be the 10c 360man sng's. The are turbo so high varience but would give you 200 bi to play which is a very comfy br to handle swings in mtt's if you are a winning player.

My suggestion would be the 25c 45 or 90 man sng's, gives you 80 bi and you can probably build a decent bankroll from playing them if you do alright. For true MTT style there are I think three 10c mtt's with 50$ added in the vip tab under bronzestar and there is also a regular 25c mtt with 100$ added at 10PM ET everynight.

Anything outside of these micros would certainly be way beyond brm for a 20$ br. If you wish to play sng's I'd suggest transfering it to FTP and play the 50c sng's regular or turbo depending on your style as to play stt sng's on stars is 1.5 min game.

So yeah anything below 50c could be justifiable, but at the same time 50c is only giving you 40 bi (buy-ins) and its very easy to run that many mtt's without any signifiicant or any cash so be best if looking to stick proper brm to go the 25c 45 mans, or move it to ftp and play the micro sng's at 50c.

I always advise take shots in small mtts if you can play mtts since a decent cash can really push you forward your bankroll quickly.

If you prefer the slow grind
Most here will advise have at least 50 buy ins to any level for cash even 100 buy ins which is key to protecting your bankroll.

I personally would open 2 tables one 4c NL where basically I tread water keeping my bankroll afloat $25.00
and with the profits I make take shots in mtts on a 2nd table for like $1 etc . when you win for example $15.00 from the mtt take $5.00 of your winnings have a shot at a $3.50 40/45 man mtt and maybe a 2.50 90 mtt.
The other $10.00 will be your mtt roll to continue taking shots whilest you now dont have to use
your cash rol until you lose 10 Buy ins
Keep repeating the process adventually you will get a good cash repeat the process until you can move up comfortably.
once you get to $200 or more you can choose where to go with your bankroll

FYI to OP, not good BRM advice IMO. Make profit, play bigger, blow profit get frustrated and blow bankroll and this leaves you wear exactly? This is certainly an approach but not one if someone is looking to follow a good model BRM, you are implying a more shot taking approach cotta which of course doesn't work out unless you are not going to lose on that cash table ever and thus keep you afloat until you bink an mtt. Like i said it could be a strategy that would work but not something to recommend to someone looking for a good BRM to follow.

Just wanted to point this out to the OP, obv my opinion on the matter but am sure most looking at good BRM wouldn't advice taking shots with any profit you manage to scrape from a rungood at a cash table. Just seems like an approach to break even or lose unless you manage to bink a high varience large field mtt, and would only be break even if you don't hit a downswing on the cash table.

I tried that approach, i thought that if i play on higher buyin mtt ill learn more it ends up same every time and i didn't learn and progress much all i had was same bitter feeling when im back to freerolls...

I would follow bluff with 10c 360 sng, 2c is to crazy to try to grind imo
Or if you want to play dons you can play as low as 25c don on party...

Is poker stars the only site you play on? I can't play there for cash obviously, but i have been doing very well in the carbon $1.10, $2.20 and $5.50 buy in 100, 150, and 250 guaranteed's. Don't re-buy either, so my return on investment is killer. Average 45-90 bucks for 1st in an average field 0f 40- 70 players. I also play for the fun of it and not looking to make a killing, and because i have a lot of buddies in them. The $5.50 horse turnys pay very well, a lot of times $100- $175 for 1st and hardly ever more than 40 in the field.

Imo you should obviously play the 360 man 10c sng to build roll over 100

They certainly would be something to throw in the mix, as I had mentioned, but I think main focus for a lower varience build would be the 25c 45man sng specifically as the 360's are turbo and can be a real b*tch when it comes to not making ITM and especially to see a build of the roll would want to be looking at top 3 finishes.

However that depends obviously on style and where you would eventually want to focus on the game, if MTT is your ultimate goal in the long run then yes I would probably suggest the 10c 360's as well although they are turbo there are deeper fields for a cheap price to gain experience.

Playing the 10c 360's is good advice, but if you are going to take a chance on the turbos i'd do some research because the way you would go about playing them is slightly different than your reg sngs... and as Bluff said variance can def be a b*tch at these types of games... Check some of the past forum posts as there is some good stuff on how to play them...
