I think I've finally found my game: 6 max NL turbo tourneys

But I'm stuck. I make a killing on the $6.50s, but every time I get my bankroll up high enough to try $13 games, I can't get anywhere. After a session with them either I've broken even or gone down a buy-in or two. Whereas with the $6.50s, in a month of sessions over 90% of them are positive.

It's very frustrating! What can I do to get unstuck?

Also, I've never read any books before, and I'm curious what would be most helpful for my game.

first you have to assume with higher buy-ins, there are better players. This is not always the case, but I have noiticed it on a couple of different sites. Second, you should adopt the 1/10th bankroll rule which is used/being used by a number of pro players who are trying to make anywhere from 10,000 to 1 mil from starting at 0. Only play in the games that are 1/10th of your bankroll or less. Then make sure you don't have any distractions going on. Play in only 1 game, and vary your style of play. Good luck.

It's probably just variance, but without having detailed stats it's impossible for us to be accurate. How many games a day/week/month do you play? What are your stats, VPIP/PFR/AF.

It could very well be variance because I have been playing under 200/month.

My stats are 44/24. I'm not sure which AF is commonly used, so my PF AF is 1.1, flop is 3.4, turn is 2.4, river is 3.1.

This may be a radical idea but have you considered skipping a level? i remember once on an interview with one of the top pros he specifically stated that as he was making the climb up the $$ rung he would consistently get stuck at a certain level. After months of trying he said he finally decided to get enough roll together to move up to the next level up. Once there he had some winning sessions and moved on up from there.

Of course i highly recommend having enough roll to do this. Don't wanna be irresponsible ya know.
