Another advantage to posting hands is that it allows you to get advice on very specific, in-game situations. Sometimes, people pose questions that are far too general to answer in a meaningful way, e.g. "Should I shove AK preflop?", "When should I cbet?", "Should I chase flush draws?", "How do I play sets?", where, really, the answer to each question is, "It depends on X, Y, Z, and a host of other factors". Posting hands that embody these theoretical scenarios, say, an actual situation where you were holding AK and facing lots of pre-flop raises, or one where you flopped a set on a wet board, would yield much more productive answers, because now those evaluating your play would have enough to work with to approximate what they think is the best move in your particular case.
