Hi everyone - I need some help.
Ive been playing poker in 3 years, and tried all forms of formats, but I cant decide what format I should stick to. Yeah, the one I enjoy the most but I enjoy to play different formats from time to time.
I like these formats the most.
MTTs
The big win are motivating, and the rush a final table gives you is just incredible. The ultimate poker-dream would be to earn money from tournaments, and I think this format is the most exciting one to play.
One the other side, holy moly you are really chained to your chair all day and night long if you go deep, and I dont know if i could handle all the hours you have to play in the long run. - Bottom line, my tenacity is very bad. After 6-7 hours of play i tend to make bad moves because i get tired and unfocused.
Im a winning player in this format with a little sample of over 980 tourneys.
Cash games 6-max
This is the format i have played the most and studied the most. I have read blackrains book and many others, watching a lot of youtube clips and streams.
Its also through cashgames i mostly have build my bankroll grinding NL2, NL5 and now NL10.
I like cash game for the freedom you have, but on the other hand it feels like an endless grind without a big prize on the Top of it, like in mtts.
Profitable in cash games with above 120k of hands played.
Sngs 45-180 field.
I feel like sngs is already a solved game. People stick to their pushfold charts and dont make any moves early on.
I played sngs when i first tried poker for real money and it went well. I got kinda addicted to the structure, because for only 1-2 hours of play you could get a lot of money if u ended in top3.
- Sngs are fun from time to time, but I dont think its a format i would stick to full time.
- Have you ever been confused what to stick to? I really want to specialize ONE thing to master it. Not just to be decent at everything.
Do any of you have any advice?
I have read the sentence "Play the one you enjoy the most" over and over again, when i made my reseach on the internet. I enjoy to play all formats from time to time, but I dont think i would improve skillwise if i continue to play all different formats.
I really hope to get some advices,
Merry Christmas
