Hi there guys, i am aware that threads similar to this one have been made but here i go.
I'm 22 years old, i'm at college studying psychology but in all reality since it's just me and my mother ... she couldn't afford to
send me to a good one so it's rather a mediocre-ish maybe even less than that type of college. I have no job and made virtually next
to nothing of an income doing anything mainly because i live in Roumania in a small town and because of the economical crysis over
here i can't find any job. My mother is struggling to sustain us and I've been wrapping my head around as to how could i
make a small profit online.
Then poker came along about 3 months ago and i got a few bucks of a strategy website for completing a test and i've been playing
around with those going on a slow up and down spiral mostly by just trying to learn the game to some extent. Since i've begun to like
the game so much i figured i should start trying to actually build a bank roll. In the meantime i've reaserched a bit about the game
read a few strategies here and there ... watched some videos started reading a book and i got to realize how much more complicated
this game is than i initially thought.
Anyway i see many new eager poker players thinking to actually make a living out of poker ... after researching some more
i realised that most people just end up losing everything or breaking even and having their "dreams" crushed by the cruel reality of
the game and if not that the profit that they would make turn out to be way to small for a full time job.
But then again the "advantage" i have of living in a poor country is that a lot of people around here live with about 200 euros a
month and while that sounds ridiculous to some of you the prices on food and what not are actually lower here.
What i'm trying to say is that micro stakes could help me a lot because that's what i would want to make or maybe even less in a month,
then again i realized that even that is pretty damn hard for someone as inexperienced as me.
But this is my goal guys ... to somewhat break the micro stakes and make a small profit that would mean a huge difference to me and
my mother. Maybe later in life I'd be able to actually find a job in my domain and just play poker on the side but as i sit right now
instead of wasting my time watching movies and playing random video games or going outside and getting wasted with my friends all the
time ... maybe i could make a difference within my household by winning some money.
I've realized that i was mostly breaking even lately because of this fancy play syndrome that took over me,
every time i sensed weakness in players i would become very aggressive and sometimes even bet all 3 streets sometimes getting them
to fold the best hand ... and yet again sometimes getting called by a fish all the way down with something mediocre or really weak.
Then i've suffered from tilt in regards to the big amount of bad breaks i've had ... i keep trying to discipline myself, to understand
that as long as i make the right decisions the immediate outcome is irrelevant.
Now I'm trying to step aside from my pride and to try to outplay people with ridiculous moves and play a TAG ABC poker ... do you
think if applied properly i could make from 100 to 200 euros a month by using this method?
Or do you think that's not enough ?
I do not own a HUD program but i'm looking forward to getting one in the future, right now i'm mainly just taking notes on
different players.
I'm not looking to becoming the next Durrr ... the next Phill Ivey, i realise that i'm not intelligent enough nor gifted in the way
they are but i do think that with a lot of training, reading and experience i could make a bit of a profit by playing online no limit
holdem. I don't need much, i just need something. Hopefully if you guys have the time and you want you could give me a few pointers from
your own experience of making a profit in poker ( no matter how big or small ).
