A lot of players get a bit excited when an ace turns up as one of their hole cards. Everybody likes to see one, but a single ace is not as powerful as it may seem. If you are playing at a table with nine other players, the probability of you holding an ace and no other player holds one is about 25 percent. This is not a high figure and you need to think of your other card the kicker. If it is low and it comes to a showdown you will lose to a higher kicker. Do not play aces with a low kicker.
