Banks and Online Poker
Sorry. Due to Congressional pressures and legislation forthcoming, American banks are not permitted to transfer funds to
online poker sites. Several online entities which started out providing this service have either gone under completely, e.g.,
neteller, or eventually dropped that service.
Much of this has been generated by the fact that under-aged players have gotten hold of their family members' check cards, blowing on-hand
equity the family needs simply to pay bills, manage/building savings, etc. (FYI, I do not recommend using personal bank checks, as these entities are overseas and out of US jurisdiction.) Nor do I recommend using a payment method which requires one to reveal their Social Security numbers; identidy theft is a very real and [to evil persons] a very lucrative business.
Recommend direct payment to the cashiers ... contact them to get "snail mail" addresses where you can send a money order. Even if off-shore or Foreign locations, they will often accommodate US dollars ... just check with them before you send them funds.
Write your Congressman {grin} and voice your opinion(s). Our American, in-Country, lounges are losing $millions+ because those of us who wish to play are sending funds out of the Country. ....and yet have heard news reports that Vegas is losing lots of business because their
casinos cannot participate in the internet world.
