Limping is - weak - but sometimes - (about 15% maybe) effective.

I thought this might assist some players in choosing an alternative approach.

check called the guy all the way down. I knew he would fold to any aggressive action. So I just check called.
Thought flop and runout was just too good - quite funny to be honest - so I captured the image.

On this kind of board people might actually call with A high, because its just so difficult to hit. Its fine to slowplay the flop and turn, but you should have raised the river.

If he is being aggressive I dont mind the approach of just calling until the river - we are in position so there should be no check-call line taking place here. Anyway, once the river brings in the full house and front door spades brick...I would probably shove overtop of a river bet. Sticky A hi hands and pocket pairs sometimes find a call with a boat on board and if he folds we get that last bet from him anyways.

There is nothing to lose by raising the river, when we have the stone nuts, and we are closing action. In many casinos there is actually a penalty for not raising in a spot like this, because it is considered potential collusion.

You both are totally correct. This hand is a little old so I can't remember exactly, but I think the betting lines went, check, bet call, turn check check, river check bet min-raise call. I should have gotten more on the river, but I think I was running too many events at the same time. My ideal amount is 6 but sometimes the OD events come up when I'm already playing the optimal number of tables.

I don't think jamming the river would net anything except maybe 20% of the time, I think a better line would be maybe 3x the bet, or lead out for 3x. Jamming is better left to a spot where someone is betting strong for two streets when a straight or broadway cards hit hard on the flop/turn, and then the river brings the oh so sweet nut flush in. :) Or a boat is being fast played until quads hit the river. Essentially the nuts vs 2nd best.
I guess this could be considered a polarized spot as well, but I use the river jam sparingly, would much rather have a called 3x bet - to get those precious chips.
