When I played the hand, I wish I had thought through it a little more before I checked back the river. In hindsight, when he checks the river it's very likely he's doing it with a value hand he's intending to check/call with but doesn't want to get raised if he bets out for value himself. When I check the flop, my hands normally consist of Kx, flopped monsters or total air that I don't even want to bother cbetting against a competent opponent. With a gutshot and a pair, I think it's a little weak to fold the turn to a single bet especially against a thinking opponent. I have villain in this hand marked as a reg and he plays like one, although sometimes unorthodox, he plays solid.

I think ESPECIALLY against a thinking player, on overbet here would work a large majority of the time. I have two blockers to QJ, which I certainly can have in my check back range, as well as credibly being able to rep Kx when the river brings a second king. My opponent obviously has a capped range here and I think it's extremely difficult for him to call a, say, a 22-25BB bet on the river with anything except a king or a flopped straight or full house. All of which I believe he would keep betting on the river as there are a ton of hands I can conceivably call with when I check back the flop. What do you guys think about that?
