22$ PKO, 6max on 888 Poker:

I inflated the pot AGAIN! XD
I'am a bit lost here, the thing I see is, that I should have checked back the turn for potcontrol, is that correct? I have the tendency to inflate pots mit marginal hands. Any advise to get better in this area?

I may check the flop with the draw.

Then when we lead the turn it may not induce a shove by the villain.

Then you can check/call or fold the river unimproved.

My thoughts. May be way off.

I would have played a lot like you, except for calling the all in. At the turn, I would sometimes bet like you and sometimes check back to mix my game so I don't become too predictable.

I think the all in at the turn was a little reckless, KT is not the best hand ever and AT was definitely in your range. On your side, though, what did you think you could beat when he went all in? Maybe a flush draw, but he would probably just call your bet. He could have a set, a straight, a XT, X being a higher kicker than yours.

Of course, I don't have a read on the player, he could be bluffing all the time and you thought you had him, but in general I think you could have considered folding the hand when he shoved.

I am fine with preflop and flop, but I think the biggest thing to not "overplay" hands in these spots is to stop and actually think about what you get action from.

Specifically in this spot, we have top pair and open-ended, which feels strong, but if you look at the board and what can actually continue, there's not a LOT of worse made hands that will continue vs multiple bets.

Now, it IS a pretty draw heavy board, so I think that if we're never getting check raised by those draws (by this opponent), we can go for two bets now, and check river. But I think this hand is a pretty good candidate to check back turn bc sometimes we WILL be x/r by the strong draws and likely have to fold. Which is sort of a disaster since we have so many outs when behind, but not QUITE enough to continue I think.

As played I think we SHOULD be folding this exact hand, holding on with some of our best Tx and anything better for the most part.

At these depths I'm not all that surprised to see the hand that the villain actually showed up with here.

I prefer check and call flop, cos your hands have showdown value, if you want to lead, maybe bet 1.8-2BB ,can control pot size, and if BB shove river, you can easy fold.
