$11 NLHE MTT Bounty: 11$ Bounty Builder Top 200: Interesting Spots, please share your thoughts
I don't use tracker in tournaments, rather I just check my opponents on sharkscope, and write nots if I see tendencies, so I will write this hand from my memory, please bear with me.
It's 11$ Bounty Builder, around 180 people left.
MP - 60bb
CO - 28bb
BB(Hero) - 82bb
MP is a losing player, but not much history with him. CO is a good reg, has solid winnings in 2017 and he was playing somewhat loose-aggressive poker. Table overall was quite soft and stationary.
Dealt to hero Kh9h.
Pot 2.85bb
MP raises to 2.5bb, CO calls, Hero?
My first instinct was just to call, but I thought why bluff 3-bet. The thing is, in bounty builders if you are on a shorter side and have premium hands, you should always play agressively from the start, because other players are willing to call you more lightly because of bounties. CO, being a good player, certainly knows that and it means that he mainly has mid strength hand. He would almost certainly fold to 3-bet. That leaves me with fish on MP. I have decent blocker, and suited cards, so I decided to go for it.
Hero raises to 8.8bb, MP calls, CO folds.
Pot 15.65bb
Flop: Qh, 8h, 3s
When MP calls I put him on TT-QQ, KQs, AQ-AK and maybe some other suited brodways. Since I have FD, I feel this is mandatory bluff.
Hero(BB) bets 9.1 bb, MP calls.
Pot is 33.85b
Turn: Tc
I turn SDFD. When villain calls he most likely has a pair at least, again, TT-QQ, KQ, AQ. In my range I have QQ - KK - AA as value bets, so I thought how I will play these hands. Villain has 41bb left at the moment.
