It doesn´t seem that good of an option, should I just fold? no need to risk my stack to get back yet. I think shoving 88 here is still a bit akward, but (s)he has recreational stats, so there will be some trash on that range, thoughts?

pokerstars - 80/160 Ante 20 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

CO: 2,209 (13.8 bb)
BTN: 2,103 (13.1 bb)
SB: 2,510 (15.7 bb)
BB: 3,557 (22.2 bb)
UTG: 4,555 (28.5 bb)
UTG+1: 4,116 (25.7 bb)
MP: 2,736 (17.1 bb)
Hero (MP+1): 2,708 (16.9 bb)

8 players post ante of 20, SB posts 80, BB posts 160

Pre Flop: (pot: 400) Hero has :5d4: :5c4:
UTG raises to 320, 2 folds, Hero raises to 2,688 and is all-in, 5 folds

Results: 1,040 pot (0 rake)

The trouble here is that any villain will almost certainly have two over cards. It's true that we only have 16BB and should be looking to get it in - but even if we're right in knowing the original opener is folding, we have 7 players to act behind.

With 16BB, this is a fold, with 10BB or less I can get behind a ship here, but 16BB fold and find a better spot. 77, 88, 99 gets interesting...

I agree with the previous poster.
My 2 cents: If the raise came from middle position, 55 could be shoved. I would depend on my read of the player. If villain is loose aggressive, but not a calling station, it’s an easy shove. If villain is generally tight, I would fold and wait for a better spot. I would also rely on my table image. If I’ve proven to be a tight player, I can have a bit more equity with the shove.
