This is a discussion on $5 NLHE 6-max: When/how do I find out where I am at? within the online poker forums, in the Cash Game Hand Analysis section; I get reraised by a tight SB. Should I just fold or should I 4bet pre to see where I am at, or re-raise on
Seems like a pretty easy fold pre. Don't feed the nits.
By the flop, you're just setting money on fire.

I have to give credit to a guy playing that tight over 70 hands, especially when he 3bets. Even when you're in a steal position this guy almost always has you as like a 2 to 1 dog preflop. 4betting to 'see where you're at' is not really a good idea like ever imo. You're better off to just fold preflop. Give up this time; you'll be able to steal his blinds a ton later and make up the 3bb you lose now.
His bets on the flop and turn were so small, that I just elected to call instead of raising. I did not believe he had anything.
This guy has hardly played any hands, you kinda have to believe him. He's probably betting so small because he doesn't want to scare you away with his JJ+ or AK. You should really be folding, not calling or raising.
What range of hands do you put him on preflop? How well does that range connect to this flop?

I should of course think like that, what can he have. The only thing that missed him would be AQ..... So thanks guys, Ill fold next time. Not too sure what I was thinking pre, other than 99 is good, I always need to play it....wrong...
