Figured such a big raise would put him to the test and might even make him laydown an overpair, or 77-1010.

I would say no the other way. Most of the time they fold and you lose money you could have gotten when you hit. Obviously you didn't here, but there's really no reason to believe you have any less than 15 outs. That means you're a favorite to win the pot. Here you only had 12, but you were close to even money here (53-47 dog according to pokerstove). No need to be pushing out worse hands when you have what is most likely the best hand.

Really? Answer a half pot bet with a shove with what's likely the best hand and only getting action from hands even or better (set or 2 pair you've got 9 outs plus disregarding runner-runner draws, maybe you get a call from top pair here, but not too likely unless we have a manic image)?

Actually, scratch what I said before, I didn't realize that this raise isn't even that big after all. He had $20 and had already committed $6. So you essentially raised 14 on top of a $20 pot. I would say it's a good push, ignore my first response

edit: although I still think you are wrong about wanting 77-TT to fold to your bet. You want action from any hand under QQ, as you'll have 15 outs and be about 56% to win. When you're a favorite to win, you want them calling. It doesn't matter if they have a better hand now, you have the best hand because you will be seeing 2 more cards, and the majority of the possibilities will give you the lead.

fwiw you're never folding out QQ+ here if my experience means anything.

And ya, I feel you played it fine given effective stack sizes. Calling here is pretty bad. And leave out the results next time please; just show up to your shove.

For stack sizes, I think this is fine. If you're deep stacked, I would probably call in position or re-raise for "free" card.
