Hero (CO): $2.18
BTN: $0.99
SB: $0.80
BB: $2.65
UTG: $1.98
UTG+1: $2.06
UTG+2: $2.00
MP1: $1.13
MP2: $0.77
Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is CO with K ♦ K ♣
UTG calls $0.02, UTG+1 raises to $0.10, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, 4 folds, UTG+1 raises to $0.90, Hero calls $0.60
Flop: ($1.85) 7 ♣ 7 ♠ 3 ♥ (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $1.16 all in, Hero calls $1.16
Turn: ($4.17) J ♦ (2 players - 1 is all in)
River: ($4.17) J ♠ (2 players - 1 is all in)
UTG+1 is 14 / 7 / 7.3 over 374 hands, no 3-bet stats
OK this hand looks weird but I can explain
The logic goes like this:
1. Normally I don't mind stacking off preflop with KK. I figured this guy possibly 4-bets with QQ+ but if I shove he calls only with KK+ and maybe not even KK. Should I just shove anyway? Or is this one of those "he has AA, fold KK" situations? I wasn't really sure that it is so and I am not exactly a pro here, can't fold KK so easily
*** There is a nit that I saw yesterday who has stats 17 / 1 (!!!) preflop over 1k+ hands so when he raised I checked and sure enough he raises 0.7% hands preflop (meaning probably only AA) and against him I would consider it. I folded AQo without a second thought
2. My flop line if OOP would be to check. It is meant to induce him to bet/shove his entire range, while if I shove/bet he calls with/shoves only AA. Now, if his 4-bet range is only AA then I am surely beaten and have to fold KK on the flop but I wasn't really sure my hand reading is so good.
Since he is IP he shoves outright and I call based on the same logic (if his range is QQ+ then I have 50% equity + I get info on him).
(3.) If I was ready to call a shove preflop (and I was), I considered that KK was going in anyway and this way at least I can make a note about him and be certain next time.
Opinions on my logic there?
*He did have AA but that is not really important as far as theoretical discussion goes.
