Hand 1:
At first it's an instant muck vs 2 randoms but J00lyR00ger has open shoved the last 5 hands. Dmikis has been at the table 3 hands. Are we ever ahead of dmikis enough here to shove?

Hand 2:
Hypothetical but common.
We are SB or BB and have AT-AJ-KQs and there is an MP raise to 5BB. Are we flatting, raising or folding? How does this change if BTN calls? What if we have AQ or 77-99?

Great question. An indepth answer would be great as this is one of my leaks too. AQ especially is my problem hand. Too strong to fold but too weak to re-raise. Flatting OOP seems pretty bad too (but it's usually what I do).

I think the legibility is up to the people who are kind enough to volunteer to read and offer input on your HH ;)

No input was offered lol. To explain it extra simply:
I am SB with 88
Maniac from MP shoves like he has the last 5 hands
New player on button calls shove

Hand 1 is a fold

Hand 2 depends on the person open raising.

If we think they are opening a wide range and will call a 3 bet with a wide enough range then we can 3 bet for value.

If we think they are opening a wide range but will only call a 3 bet with hands that beat us then a call will be better. Before calling we need to have a plan post flop to win the pot.
Is our plan to check/fold the flop if we miss? If so we will only hit about 33% of the time so we need to know that every time we hit we will make enough to cover the losses of the other 66% of the time.
Do we have reads on villain to indicate that we can take it down even when we don't hit? That's great! Just remember any fancy plays are going to be that much harder as we are oop...

If villain is a solid reg who we know will outplay us post flop in position then we will lose less by folding pre.

What's the minimum we can be calling Hand 1 with then? TT? JJ? even 99?
Also, thanks for that No Brainer

Calling it with anything is pretty bad as we will be in a massively bloated pot, 170bbs deep oop against an unknown. It doesn't get much worse than that.

I think you may be better off just shoving AK, KK+ and folding the rest. If you think he will call with worse or fold to a shove a lot you can obviously widen this range to QQ or JJ but against an unknown I would keep it pretty tight...

Hand 1:
Fold, reshoving JJ+/AK minimum, probably not folding TT/AQ either.

Hand 2:
It depends, but if BTN flats vs. a loose opener we should 3-bet pretty wide (merged range) for value.

So for example situation 2:
MP opens to 10c, BTN flats, we have 77 in BB? 3b to 28-34c? or flat? Assuming all 3 are 100bb deep
