Hi all,

Have just been checking up on the results of the 1st two events thus far. In Event 1 ($10,000 PLHE) the final table consisted of 6 well known pros. Three I have not heard of, but they may be well known also. As it stands now there 4 players left; 4th Mike Sexton 480 000, 3rd Kathy Leibert 1 360 000, 2nd Nenad Medic 2 560 000, and 1st position is Andy Bloch 2 590 000.

So obviously a well known professional poker player will take down event 1. I was just wondering if anyone thinks this trend will continue and could it be probable that an established pro will take down the ME???

To be honest... I don't think this year will be all that different from the past few years.

I think the final table of Event #1 has more to do with its buy-in and structure than anything else though: it's pot-limit with a $10K entry fee. Have a look at the leader board for the $1500 no-limit tournament that's running at the moment, and it'll tell a different story.

There are more $10K events this year than previous years, and you can probably expect a higher ratio of pros in those events, but outside of that I'd expect it to be status quo.

I hope ESPN televises that table, it would be cool to see. They don't usually tend to show many PL events, though.

So, where are people going for updates? ESPN360 gives me nothing but script errors. PokerTube has video updates, but they are terrible. Poor writing, and they are being read by some girl they must've pulled in off the street.

So, where are people going for updates?

Pokernews has a live blog that provides very good updates.

ESPN360 gives me nothing but script errors.

ESPN360 although is a website, its really a broadband cable network and they require your Internet Service Provider to pay them a fee for you to access it. If you get script errors then it's likely that your ISP isn't subscribed with them. Search ESPN360 in Wikipedia for the list of companies that are signed up with them.

Good to see CardsChat's favorite pro making a final table. Bring home that bracelet Kathy and don't mistake the chips for potato chips.

I thought Tom McEvoy was our favorite pro.

And she finished 3rd by the way.

I was following the updates until I fell asleep hoping Kathy would win (gotta give the love to my fellow females). She managed a short stack for a long, long time. I'll be interested to see the televised game's take on that.

Okay okay favorite female. Do some digging and you should be able to find some amusing mentions of her in some various threads.

A friend of mine played against her last year in the wsop in the LO8 tourney, so I already have a collection of amusing stories regarding her! ;)

Medic I believe won the 1st event. The main event is the game where the pros will have a tough time just because of the sheer numbers of non pros. Thats the same for woman, so few of them to be able to win

Well so far 3 out of the first 4 events have been taken out by well knowns. Was almost a clean sweep with Chris Ferguson coming 3rd in event 2. Should be good to watch some of these events once they are put up on pokertube.
