Ohhh number 2 is WAY too fresh in my mind from last Monday nights game. Flopped the nut straight with AQ, only to see the ace on the turn and a Q on the river. Sickened, id managed to get a set of 10's all in as well. BOO !!!

well its not listed up there, but last week in our buyin i held pocket AA and just called, then someone went allin with rags, naturally i called, flop came my third ace, then he ended up with a straight and my 3 Aces got beat, thats was frustrating. >>>>>>>>>>>>. buckster436

I'm beginning to be able to handle the good ol' bad beat & suck out. What actually makes me still want to cry is when I hold a mediocre 2 cards and the low one comes on the flop to make a weak pair with 2 overcards on board. I fold correctly against heavy raising just to see 2 more of my hole cards come up on the turn & river. Blanks to everyone else, but a full house to me that could have doubled my stack. To sum up: BAD LAYDOWNS! (Similar stuff happens to me about once or twice a day.)

Back to the poll question at hand. All 4 are great and I voted for #2, but I think #3 should have been my pick. Pure heartbreak to see the blind robing idiot actually have something better when you get the cards to call.

I think that you should be happy that you have the knowledge and experience to be able to make those folds. That IS NOT A BAD LAY DOWN. In my opinion this play is THE RIGHT play in which you lost a small number of chips when AFTER THE FACT you know you would have won a large number of chips. But hindsight is 20/20, so what you need to remember is that you should not be wagering any amount to see the turn and river unless you think you can outplay your opponent if you feel he/she has not hit the board, or you really think your hand might improve. Of course both of these things are feelings you get from observing your player, knowing your player and making a decision. That does not make the decision correct, but sometimes for a runner runner full house ; Lucky?
It may be better to be lucky than good as irish dave points out in his signature, but at least you will hold on to those chips when you make the right play and that runner runner doesnt show up....:hello:

But i have to remember how they view me, and NO ONE thought i had even one 2 in my hand at that point. So did I make the right play? well in hind sight yes but I could not have said " oh what a stupid play, why did I lay that down " if I decideded to fold to a potential 5 handed hand with a mere pocket 2's. THe way it worked out, i was happy that I at least saw the flop.... and what i hope some people take from this is, we make decicions for a reason. look at your decisions, look at your reasons and if they were both good, dont beat yourself up just because it didnt work out the way you thought it would; or should have, because after all its poker, maybe it just (was ?) wasnt in the cards.

In a tournement having someone go all-in when you have hit a set and then after calling watch the board show one by a very slow one either a straight or a flush
Of course your stack is fatally crippled and you fade into the background as Mr All-in goes on with YOUR chips to collect a nice little pay day Grrrrrrr.

I hate watching inexperienced players clean the table out. they just call and call and call, and win, win, win. Seeing a very bad passive player run over the game is just horrible to me. Because they always milk the fish.
