I used to play mostly regular SNGs, but i've decided to give a try to the turbos and over the last 4 days I've played 70 $22+2 turbo STTs on fulltilt. Still a small sample size. Anyway, it looks juicy, but the variance is way higher than anything I ever met before.

You obviously havent played 6-card Omahaha then!

The thing about turbos is that people usually overplay the turbo bit and stack off overly light!

Competition is actually quite decent at $22+2 and it's not so common to see people out of the tournament early unless two big hands collide.

Ukpi's got it nailed for the lower levels though - I play a lot of the lowest level turbo SnGs, and most of the time people seem to be in a mad rush to get all their chips in the middle.

FWIW, the same view has been put forward a few times here too: you'll often see "It's a turbo" used to justify an action that's probably a coinflip at best in the hand analysis section.

Strangely enough, I actually find this cuts down on variance a bit. When everyone's in a mad rush to get all their chips in the middle, you can almost fold your way to the money and the cards you get dealt don't matter as much. I've been on a bit of a downswing on these for the past few weeks, and my overall ROI is still a bit above 25%.
