Maybe I need to put away my tin foil hat, but something that does strike me odd about online poker is this, when party poker was at its peak " before nazi bush and his cronies made it illegal to make a deposit" I noticed I did somewhat pretty well, I built up a $2600 bank roll through party poker, hell I was rolling, then it seems like when the US gov. went after neteller and basically made it a crime to make a deposit, I could not win jack, being a computer programmer I sometimes wonder if these online sites got pissed off and said, the hell with Americans, I could be wrong but it just seems like ever since they made it hard to deposit, just seems like its much more hard to win now, sounds wierd and I probably am just having a tin foil hat moment, but it does leave room for question. Sure do miss the good ole days of party poker, the days when I could go and play on a 500 dollar table and not break a sweat, now that they are closed im back to playing 2 cent tables, LOL and still cant win jack crap.

Or maybe it's because there aren't as many fish depositing money due to the murky legal situation, and the players that stay have more access to training sites and other learning materials, and games are generally tougher than they were a few years ago.

Very excellent response, and one that makes sense, did not look at it that way, guess if that being said when they finally do get around to making it legal again then we should see that explosion of fish again, god I hope those days come again, party poker had a nice one, you would play a game, you come in the top 500 then you go to round 2, then if you came in the top 16 you won a $10000 wsop seat, I have no doubt in my mind that if that was still around I would get a seat, now days you have to play 5000 people, then another couple thousand, than you have to come in first place, hell you got a better chance of getting hit by lighting then winning a wsop seat now days. But as far as the response I think your dead on correct.

Yes, the players remaining are a lot sharper than a few years ago, and the huge pool of US fish has dried up for now (please come back fishies!!).
Overall, HE is a much tuffer game than it used to be.
IF US govt opens the gates and lets the fish back in, there will be a real payday for the peeps who stuck it out, and played, and studied the game.

wow what a nice statement to make, my brother is a semi pro and been playing for over 40 years, I guess from your statement and the amount of posts you have, you have the word FISH written all over you. Being an American I find its hard as hell to beat Americans, its the out of country people I like, you all are easy as hell to beat. and btw I never play with an ego, I play with a beer in my hand.

Yeah well I think there is a flip side too that, I think a lot of the european players stick to the sites in their country and really dont play on the US friendly sites, and that is why it also dried up too. All those UK sites like party poker etc. I used to clean house on them.

Quoted for depressing sadness :(

$5-$10nl games today are literally harder than the $400nl I enjoyed on party

I used to play on party poker myself years ago and wow, it was much easier than playing today.

I could deposit 50 bucks and have it up to a few hundred in a matter of days, sometimes hours. But, I followed no bankroll management, heck I didn't even know what it was, lol.

I know I am a much better poker player today than I was then and I keep learning more everyday. But it sure is a lot tougher to increase that bankroll now, than it was then.

And as far as more fish then, I don't know about that. I swear I see way more stupid plays now than I ever did then.

But something sure seems different, I just can't put my finger on it. :)
