Well, thanks to tournaments like the ones CardsChat puts on I managed to win a few cents then a friend gave me a dollar and from there I have managed to assess a bankroll of decent proportions.

First off, I won a satellite to the double deuce.(more on that after)

Next, I managed to pull of the biggest win of my online career with a 1st place finish in the Ferguson consisting of roughly 1500 people. That got me a cool $217.

Now after winning the satellite to the dub deuce I actually went ahead and tried it out not knowing there would be 12000 people entered.

Long story short I placed 329th for $96.

One mistake I made was getting too cocky and trying to high roll.
I lost a fair portion and am on my way back to the top.

Anyone else have a intersting story relating to your bankroll experience?

Back when I didn't know anything about BRM (I think I was 17) I played on a buddy's credit card on Everest Poker and started with $10 and built it up playing 1/2c cash games to $200. I then decided to play some 10NL, took like 2 bad beats for stacks, went on tilt and took my roll to 200NL LOOOOOOOOOL. It was a fun couple hands.
Never gonna do that shit again. :p

It is always hard to build up a bank rll from a zero start by playing freerolls. I have managed to build up around $200 on FullTilt and High5Action which is part of the Entraction skin. I limited my buy ins once I had some money from the freerolls to poker forum site tourneys rather than the wider open tourneys and this has worked well for me.

I have yet to deposit on any poker sites, and have managed to play quite a bit of cash games on FTP as of late. Took me close to a year of freeroll playing (about 4 months of actually trying to participate seriously in a larger number of freeroll events) to finally start cashing in some of those. Managed to get around $6 before I started to dabble in cash games. Did quite a few big swings with the .05/.10 ring games (min $2 buy-in), and decided to stick with the $1.25 9SnG's since I play more consistantly over a longer period of time than with quick shot ring games. Highest I've rolled up so far is $12.35 with my current status at $1.10.

I'm starting to do more freerolls on other poker sites, but am still maintaing FTP action as much as possible. The experience I've gained from all of those tournies has definatly helped sharpen my skills all around, and would recommend it for anybody that would like to play for cash.

BRM is the key. I have a similar story to yours and I fight everyday not high roll. It's actually kinda sad to go for it. I do know that high rolling doesn't work so I'll keep grinding up.

I've got my bankroll started from zero at FT and PO. All from free rolls over time have about $5 in each right now trying to get it up to $10 before doing a buy in tourney or table.
