With the help of this site I have graduated from playing "what I thought was poker" to playing the real thing. My question today is how do you guys play vs aggressive players. I play at home games and casinos where some players just bet because they have money or you have that player that drinks a little too much and decides to bet crazy. I usually would try to buy a decent amount of big blinds ....if its 1/$2 I would buy 100 ( min). So what would be the strategy to use when playing vs these players? The blinds dont come that fast and it's been times that I would be down to 40 and make lots as to when I have 100 or more I would lose it quickly? I guess Im searching for players that deal with the same kind of players and would share some advise.

The best advice is in harrington's vol. two but the short version to be extra patient.

Difficult to give specific advice for such a general question... I'm going to assume that we are talking about bad/loose/aggressive players.

If they're on our left then we can go for CR's more often... If they're on our right, we can squeeze more often. It's important to think about where they are in the betting order and how the other players are reacting to them. Is everyone clamming up or is the game getting more loose/aggressive?

Also, like rugby said, be patient.

Also, also, we shouldn't be buying for the min or letting our stack get down to 20 BB's.

Some good advice I've heard is that if you think you are the best player at the table, you should buy in for the max. If you think you might be a little outclassed, you can be put in real tough spots by good players. I find the 1-2 games to be fairly weak and always buyin full. I find that the good players can be predictable and give up one pair hands to a little bit of pressure, while bad players stack off with one pair, sometimes not even top pair.
