Harrah’s and ESPN have announced the broadcast schedule for the 2009 world series of poker.
Beginning July 28, ESPN will show two episodes every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m., EST. The first event to be shown will be the Special 40th Anniversary No-Limit Holdem Event with a $40,000 buy-in. The other two special events selected for broadcast will be the wsop Champions Invitational (Aug. 4) and the Ante Up For Africa Celebrity-Charity Event (Aug. 11).
ESPN’s coverage of the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Holdem World Championship will start Aug. 18 and conclude with a two-hour special episode Nov. 10 at 9:00 p.m., EST, featuring the final table, now known as the “November Nine.”
These changes mean that ESPN will no longer show the other no-limit holdem tournaments with lower buy-in amounts, nor will they broadcast coverage of other games, such as Omaha, Seven-Card Stud or H.O.R.S.E.
