Hope this ok to post here(if not, please advise where?)...

I recently starting using ******************.com to get a general overview on my opponents. Because I'm not familiar with policy, I won't name it here(unless prompted). It gives fairly accurate bankroll histories, hand histories, general analysis of a player in terms of loose/tight, aggression, etc.

I have made calls or folds based solely on the info there and have profited greatly this last week or so.

Any and all thoughts on this type of database, and how to use it in specific ways to increase profit would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

M

Unless I'm mistaken, you cannot use it while the poker site is running, as that is against the TOS. If you name the site, someone might be able to give you a better idea of if its allowed, but I know that sharkscope is not allowed while your playing , and I'm not completely sure about PTR.com.

Having PTR open during play is not advisable. It's against the ToS at FTP (and probably at Stars as well) to use it while the FTP client is running. There have been instances of accounts being temp banned for PTR use during play but I believe they were shut down more because the idiots used the site to degrade other players in chat than anything elese.

Also using PT3 or HEM will give you a much more complete view of how your opponents play.

We don't mind you guys mentioning these tools/sites by name lol. Just don't link them or add .com. :)

WOW...didn't know it violated TOS. How do sites know that you have, for example, PTR open? Can you open it on another computer, if you have wireless modem? Doesn't that randomize your ipaddress? Just curious.

What I've found, for example, is that just knowing an opponent has recently(same day/yesterday) donked off half or more of his BR, is a window into how he is playing right now. If he's been stacked and is now playing at higher limits to recoup losses, or he's playing lower stakes because he can't afford to lose anymore-- these are "tells", basically. Do any of you use this type of info?

Also, I dl pt3 for mac, but can't seem to get it up and running. I will eventually, as I know that it is an invaluable tool. I've never been one to keep accurate records, so I know I need this program.

Anyway, thanks...
