If someone is ranked really highly (Top 5) in all-time poker players but never one a tournament yet places anywhere from 2nd to 8th in tournaments, yet there is somebody else who have won a few tournaments and placed anywhere from 9th-15th in tournaments, which of these two do you consider to be the better poker player.

I'd say the player who has won a few, but consistently makes it into the top 15. That's solidly in the money, with the added perk of having some championships on the resume. The person who frequently makes it to the final table but never closes the deal is in danger of being labelled a "choker".

That is a tough one.

I suppose I would go with the 9-15 with a few wins. Mainly because I have won a few here and there. :)

Although, look at John Juanda. He is still waiting to win a WPT title. He is a darn good player.

i would say the person who consistently places in top 15 with a few wins, as he would be ranked higher than 5th.
