I have cable internet run through a linksys 2003 Airplus extreme DI-624 wireless router for the house network. I experience internet drops (and sometimes dropped winnings in a hand). I noticed even milionairess Annie Duke losing her internet connection multiple times in the OFC tourny so apparently her undoubedly more expensive wireless router is no better then mine in this regard. If I run the internet cable straight through to the cable modem, bypass the router and no wireless house network, then I get no internet drops so the problem is the wireless router or wireless router setup. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a internet drop free wireless router or improved setup ?

we are using a netgear router and never have a problem and run 3-4 things, sometimes even the comp and xbox both doing first person shooter games and no issues. We did not get the cheapest one which was I think 90is bucks I think be paid around 120. Good luck

Make sure you have the most recent firmware update to the router, and the most recent drivers for your wireless card. Make sure the router is set at least four feet from any large electronic device, CRT monitors, and computers are pretty bad. The farthest (with in reason) you can set the router to these things the better.

It's not just wireless routers that do this, my old Linksys used to drop me for just fractions of seconds at a time. Which was bad when playing Everquest since they toss you from the game for even a milisecond disconnect. Once I ran some updates the problem went away.

It might be a neighbor who's cordless phone is using the same frequency as your wireless network. When they get on the phone, you disconnect.

Or maybe when they use the microwave.

Lots of things can disrupt your signal.

Using a different network card and/or new router *might* fix your problem. But then again, it might not.

Sometimes contacting the poker site also helps. I was getting lots of drops from PS and contacted them. After I spoke with CS I stopped getting the drops.
