I believe that they do benefit my game a little bit.
I believe that I play best when there is something to keep my mind out of the game, and learning chip tricks can usually distract me enough to not get burnt out of the game right away. And if nothing else, I think it shows that I've spent some time at the tables, and that I know what I'm doing.
At the moment, I can do some of the easier ones like the shuffle, twirl, knuckle roll...
