Opportunity for those starting BR from scratch / Freerolls

I have been playing freerolls, etc. trying to build a BR from nothing, like many on this site. One thing that hinders me is the 4+ hours needed to block off fora 2700 player freeroll. Rarely can I devote that kind of time with work, kids, etc.
Just recently I noticed that Reefer poker has freeroll 10 man SNG's running all the time. Here's the system:

• You use $250 play dollars to buy a Tier 1 coupon that allows entry into the T1 games.
• Top 3 places (of ten) receive T2 coupons that enter you into a T2 game.
• Top 2 places (of ten) in the T2 game win a T3 coupon. 3rd place wins another T2 coupon.
• Winner of any T3 game wins $1 in their real money account.

Granted this is a little cumbersome, and can take a similar amount of time as a large FR, but you can play a SNG and be done for the night if you like. Your coupons will wait for your return.

Also, the level of play is typical FR. First 5 mins 2 or 3 might donk off and you are at a table of 7 only having to get to 3rd for your coupon. T1 games might only take 20 mins. T2 games have a bit more talent, and T3 even more, as expected. ( I assume some of the players are stoners - not that theres anything wrong with that... haha)

I know this reads a bit like an advertisement, but I'm just trying to explain it simply. The site has some micro limits, so a couple bucks could get you going. I'm just beginning to build up a few $ there myself.

Now, since I am investing some time on this site, does anyone have any experience withdrawing (in the US) from Reefer ?

Sorry to hear that. Honestly the biggest draw for me is being able to play for a short time, qualify to advance and then be done. Next time back, play the next level.

I haven't played there yet, but have it downloaded on my computer. Do you know anything about the minimum deposit needed there too? Just curious...I guess I can look for myself though. I'll have to try what you suggested.

I still feel like the best way to start a bankroll is to deposit money into a site. Whatever you can afford, for instance $20 and then play cheap table cash games, if you trust your game your bankroll can go fairly far.

I completely agree. There is a certain pride that comes from starting from nothing and then building something you can play with, but when it really comes down to it, putting aside $20 (or even $10 on some sites) to play, starting at the small limits and building it up is just as gratifying. Most of the money that i have on any site was done with this method, and i have used bankroll management to aid in knowing when to raise my limits. It seems like a lot of work playing tiers and such to make a small amount of money, never really bothered with it.

I would suggest that instead of playing the 2700 donkfests which exist your time would be much better spent in the recognised forum freerolls. A lot of forums games are full of pw theives but Cardschat have done a great job keeping them out. The result is great freeroll opportunities which allow you to then play in the buy in Cardschat games.

Forum freerolls are the best way to spend your time if you want to start a bankroll from nothing ala Chris Ferguson. Even if the freeroll is invaded by password thieves still better than public freeroll. Also there is an Online Forum Challenge on FullTilt this weekend. Good opportunity to represent CardsChat and get a bankroll started.

They also have the same thing on Carbon and Walker Poker. They are out of the same group, but you don't have to deal with that annoying pot leaf staring at you all the time.

Dude.....stop playin in freerolls/play money now!!! There waste of time!!
Deposit $50 dude (i know its alot when u've got kids and other things to pay for) then stick to bankroll managment.
Trust me, if u stick to BRM that $50 will last alot longer and u can atleast play decent SnG's or MTT's to take a shot at winning more better money. instead of this freeroll 2700 players, play for 5+ hours to make 0.30c. Whats 0.30c gonna get ya?
Turn that $50 into $100, cash out $50 then that $50 is kinda free to do what u want...stick to BRM and make it to $100 again.

it sure is an easier way to play the small sit n go to build up a dollar, then a 2700 person game where only 27 get paid, not easy but possible- tho many many wasted hours. reefer is an ok site, on the poker dot com network- they have a few other skins as well, they also do a 40 person 5$ freeroll often, so another easy game to win a buck, just fills fast. i assume their cashout should be easy enough, poker.com is a bigger site that has been around for a while now

I'd like to play more CC Freerolls, but I am not always available to play when the games are scheduled. The reason I mentioned this Reefer game is because I figured there were others out there like me that most often can only steal an hour here or there to play online. Its sort of an on-demand freeroll.

reefer is the same network as carbon, where i like to play these days, so those fun steps are the same there. brought it up a few times here...those things are easy and were key in getting my br started there including a couple CC cashes. so if you have an account all ready at one of the sites on that network, there's no need to rush over to reefer cause they probably have it everywhere. but yeah...just playing solid, and tight poker can take you a good ways in these things. won 2 of those step 3's tonight...yep...still playing them. like i said before though, just play all of them at once or you may as well just be playing 2700 person fr's. you can get all 10 of those step 1's done in under an hour if you keep registering.

The OFC freerolls are a great place to start a zero to hero challenge. I was wasting away trying to get a freeroll start on FullTilt because it was the only site I played at that had an actual cash payout and not just an entry into a weekly freeroll. The OFC freerolls take less time and generally have a more manageable field size. Good Luck!

You must also remember that freerolls are also free practice.You dont want to deposit cash when you are just starting out on online.

Best move is to join a forum (CARDSCHAT )and get some free advice and some fee game time.

I have got a BR on PS/FT/UB now thanks to freerolls and some of the best advice from CC.I now play a lot of micro cash games and the CC freerolls for some good practice and some fun.

Thanks for this post,i will give those SNG's a go because i dont realy play SNG's and would love the free practice.
