With the Main Event starting tomorrow, I decided to make a poll asking whether you Cardschatters would rather play in the Main Event ($10,000) or 5 bracelet events (usually $1500-2500).

Personally I would rather play in 5 bracelet events.
Gives me a much better chance to actually win a bracelet with 5 tries in ~10% of the field size.
Also better chance to cash or final table.

I would be more interested in the 5 events assuming they were different games. Cause one game/trny just ain't enough poker for me!

5 events, hands down.

More poker for the investment, imo. Since the ME is last, if I did well in one (or more) of the earlier 5 events, I just might have the buy-in for a 6th ... :D ... the Main Event ... ;)

For those saying stuff like 'bigger field, more $$$'... All events pay out similarly, 10% of entrants and the same payout structure (except for the HU and shootouts I believe). The more people in the event, the less your chances - so it all shakes out in the wash.

That said, I'll take the 5 games, providing I can pick'em (O8, PLO8, S8, 2-7 Lowball, and maybe Razz). Besides, the prospect of playing anythign for 13 days, much less NLHE (ugh), would be enough to put me over the edge.

You have more chances of cashing if you play 5 Bracelet events, but if I were to chose I`d go for the main event. It`s like going for that expensive, and out of your bankroll tourney, to satisfy you`re one-time desire :)

ME is probably softer, but yeah way way way higher variance. Probably 5 other events but if it was like 2 5k events or the ME I'd pick ME hands down.

5 events with the hope that variance will allow one decent cash.

One decent cash (deep-run) = buyin to main event next year :)

Main Event for the prestige. They have four or five of the 1500 donkaments now, Wait about two weeks and name one person who won one this year.

Main Event fo sho. Weak field and excellent structure. With the structure of the 1.5k tourneys you probably have less chance of using your poker skills to build a stack rather than having to get lucky and fight a short structure. My opinion.

Main Event you get your Aces cracked on the river by a donk and go home early :(

5 different events - and the same thing happens 5 times - waaaahh :banghead:

five

I'd rather play five, that way I could play 7 stud hi/lo, one of my favorite games. Plus maybe a holdem limit tournament also. Hell I might feel self=abusive and enter the razz tournament.

Take care

I would play in the 5 events. I would rather play a variety of games, and give myself a better chance at cashing, final tabling, and/or winning. Also, you will get to spend more time in Las Vegas. If I bust the first day in the Main Event you go home.

I would play satellites to the Main Event. They have a ton of these tournaments.

Also, you will get to spend more time in Las Vegas. If I bust the first day in the Main Event you go win billions off drunk tourists who lost in the ME.

At least hopefully.
