Hello Everyone,

Well I consider myself a decent poker player and always break even or make profit when I sit down for any game. But I really am looking to start taking this into a side career, and had some general questions for those who play online quite often.

1. What tracker programs do you suggest? I have seen plenty of players talking about these, I was just wondering what the players choice is.

Also, how about bankroll management software?

2. I normally only deposit around 50$ then cashout when I hit around 100-150$, but I think it's time to increase my bankroll and start doing the bigger games, I was just wondering what an average bankroll is for those who play 1/2 $ tables and so on.

3. What rakeback programs do you suggest for somebody who plays on fulltilt/stars.

Thanks for the help!

1) As far as tracking software goes, everyone and their uncle is going to suggest PokerTracker. You should probably also get PokerAce HUD to go along with it. (I use GameTime+ because it's free, but will upgrade to PokerAce once I hit my $1,000 goal)

2) As far as bankroll goes, it varies on your game. If the $1/$2 game you mentioned is Limit you want about 300 big bets, or $600. If you're playing NL you want 30 buy-ins, which is $6,000.
Of course, if you're willing to make a lot of re-buys you don't need to deposit that much. Those numbers are what you should expect to have in reserve to make a long term run at the game.

3) There is no rakeback program for pokerstars. On Full Tilt I think most people offer 27%, but I can't offer any specifics. Look around.

1: I use Pokertracker and Pokerace HUD best $80 i ever spent. I currently am doing exactly what you are looking to try with the side hustle. Pokertracker really shows you so much information on how you play that you can go back and see where you are playing your hands wrong or even what hands you may think are good hands but really your losing say 70% of the time with them and can take them out of your its worth playing category

2. Read the Chris Ferguson article that Gallo posted. I personally feel that that one article was the biggest piece of information that i could have ever read about poker. It helped me fix automatically what was wrong with my game. I was playing with 50%-75% of my roll on one table. I would say you would need $4,000 to sit at a 1-2 NL game comfortably.

3. Can't help you on rakeback as i created a FullTilt account before i heard about rakeback.
