Seen it and it makes me  Gus for being well heck, Gus. He's right too. Come on! Like anyone folds a boat. Maybe, maybe, if you have some sort of 6th sense read on your opponent, but I can't see that happening against Howard.

So I just have to love Gus for taking the piss out of the rest of the guys. Felt bad for Twan though. I figure Gus, Daniel, and Erick for sure would have busted out in that one hand. I mean full house for God's sake and to fold it goes against every fiber of your being. The urge is to raise or even insta-push all-in. That's the urge. So that Twan just bet then called I think is pretty darned impressive. Showed a lot of restraint.

Was watching that whole week of PAD when I got distracted by wsop updates. I like the coverage at pokertube but also at the official site. It's pretty good.

Its Tuan.
I have to say, Im pretty surprised and impressed by Tuan's call, especially considering that he is a really LAG player. He must really gotten a decent read on Howard. He knows Howard isnt raising on the river with just a straight or just trip kings. I dont think he put Howard on JJ or QQ because of no PFR, but Howard did limp in. KQ, KJ is a possibility, though it would seem a bit unlikely, but not impossible since Tuan was holding a K and 2 were on the board. Tuan must've figured out that Howard is most only raising with a boat here. I think Tuan just called because Howard could be raising with KJ, KQ to beat him, but there is a chance at Howard raising with K9 or possibly 99.

Gus is dead right - nobody at that table would have folded K9, especially for "only" 6K - that is pretty small change for those guys. Tuan got a decent read, and did fear he was beat - but had to find out.

When I googled for spelling(not the best spell check I know), it came back Twan(was checking phonetically). So I'm guessing I'm not the only one who couldn't spell his first name.

Thanks for the spell check Philthy.

honestly doesn't take an in-depth read or any special skill to just call there. reraising there vs a player like howard is burning money. even if howard does have an uncharacteristic 99 or something that limped behind preflop (and this along with QQ and JJ are really so unlikely), he'd fold it pretty quickly if tuan 3bet, because tuan is obviously not reraising the straight after getting raised on a paired board. tuan virtually can't get called by anything he beats

vs. a really awful player you can maybe shove and get called by a straight there but not against lederer

strategy aside, gus is pretty damn funny on that week of PAD. one of my favorites

that kills me, Gus is so right. The only thing that impresses me is that he thought about it before calling and didn't just shove. That's what I would have done, and thats why I drive an 83 Gremlin.
